What We Can Put Onto Your Item

Most people find us searching for photo engraving. Photos are only part of what actually comes through the door.

Photo engraving

Portraits, family photos, wedding and engagement shots, newborns, pet photos, old scanned prints, team and club photos, memorial photos.

Logo engraving and branding

Business logos, club and school crests, band logos, sporting emblems, military and service insignia, boat and trailer names, staff gifts and corporate merchandise. Logos usually come out beautifully because they're already clean, high-contrast line work.

Signatures and handwriting

An engraved signature on a plaque or pen, a handwritten recipe on a chopping board, a note or a card in a loved one's own handwriting. Some of the most meaningful pieces we make.

Hand-drawn pictures and kids' artwork

A child's drawing engraved onto a timber board or a tumbler is one of the best gifts going. We also do sketches, line art, tattoo designs, caricatures, illustrations, painted artwork and coats of arms.

AI-generated images

Midjourney, ChatGPT, Firefly and the rest engrave well when the resolution holds up. Send the original download rather than a screenshot.

Prints, marks and one-off ideas

Paw prints and pet nose prints, hand and footprints, fingerprints, soundwave and voice waveforms, ECG heartbeat lines, ultrasound scans, star maps and coordinates, maps and site plans, QR codes, barcodes and asset tags.

Yours not on the list? Ask. The list keeps growing because people keep asking.

Can It Be Engraved? Send It to Us.

Show us the image and tell us the object. We'll work out whether it can be engraved and the best way to do it.

Customer-supplied items are welcome, subject to suitability.

Bring your own item

Drop it into our Gold Coast workshop or post it to us from anywhere in Australia. Most of our work is on customer-supplied items.

Have your supplier send it

Buying trophies, drinkware or promotional stock elsewhere? Have them ship directly to our workshop and skip a step.

Let us source it for you

We procure tumblers, plaques, glassware, boards, trophies, awards and gift items at competitive prices, so the item and the engraving come from one place.

Off the shelf

We hold popular items in stock, and what we don't have we can almost always get.

The jobs that come through

What People Have Engraved

The occasion usually decides the item long before the image does.

Memorials and remembrance: photos, handwriting, signatures and fingerprints on plaques, plates, glass and keepsakes. We work to funeral timelines when we're told about them.

Weddings and anniversaries: engraved wedding photos, vows, handwriting, signatures and dates on glassware, tumblers, boards and bridal party gifts.

Family gifts: children's drawings, family photos, pet portraits and handwritten messages, usually onto boards, tumblers and glassware.

Business and corporate: logos, branding, crests and artwork on staff gifts and office pieces, client thank-yous, branded drinkware, awards and aluminium nameplates.

Clubs, schools and sport: club logos, team images, school crests and sponsor artwork on trophies, brass honour boards, presentation gifts and life member awards.

Pricing

What Photo & Logo Engraving Costs

Photo and image engraving starts from our $45 shop minimum, with most one-off jobs landing around $75. Where you sit depends on the item, the size of the engraved area and how much preparation the image needs.

Getting a few done at once is the cheapest way to do it. The setup work is the same whether we run one piece or six, so multiples cost less per item and everything comes back in the one trip or the one parcel.

Some images need design work before they'll engrave properly: cleaning up a background, rebuilding a low-resolution logo, adjusting contrast, separating a subject from a busy scene. Where that's needed we quote it up front as part of the job, so there's nothing unexpected at pick-up.

Every job gets a firm price before we start.

Timing

Typical Turnaround Times

Standard

Most items: 1–3 business days

Counted from the moment you approve your proof, not from the moment you enquire.

Involved

Larger jobs: 7–14 days

Bulk corporate runs, items we're sourcing for you, unusual materials and anything with complex artwork all sit in this range. Interstate mail-in adds transit time both ways.

Deadlines

Working to a fixed date

A funeral, a wedding, a presentation night. Tell us when you enquire and we'll confirm what's achievable rather than guess.

Because every job is different, your exact turnaround comes with your quote, and we're happy to give it before you commit to anything.

A portrait engraved in crystal, showing how tone rather than colour carries the image
Before you pay, not after

An Honest Word About Photos, Logos & Image Quality

Not every image works, and we'd rather tell you that before you pay than after.

Engraving works in tone, not colour. It reproduces light and shade into the surface of the material, and each material behaves differently. Timber tends to produce a warmer, softer image, coated metals can produce very crisp contrast, while glass, acrylic and other materials each create their own finish. A photo that looks perfect on your phone can flatten out in the very dark or very bright areas once it's converted.

The files that give us trouble are usually screenshots, images saved off social media, heavily filtered photos, group shots where the faces are small, anything taken in low light, and tiny logo files pulled off a website. Some of these we rescue with design work. Some we can't, and we'll say so.

So we assess every job case by case. Send the image, tell us what you want it on, and you'll get a straight answer: how it will look, what it will cost, whether it needs extra work, and whether a different photo or material would give you a better result. Free, and no obligation.

Nothing goes near the laser until you've seen your proof and approved it.

File guidance

How to Send Your Photo, Logo or Artwork

Send the largest original file you have. JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and PDF are all fine.

Photos

The original from your camera or phone gallery, not a screenshot and not a version that's been through a messaging app, which compresses it.

Logos

A vector file is ideal (.AI, .EPS, .SVG or vector PDF). Only have a PNG or JPEG? Send the biggest version you've got, preferably on a transparent or plain white background. We can redraw a logo from a poor file and we'll quote that separately if it's needed.

AI-generated images

The original download at full resolution, rather than a screenshot of it.

Artwork, signatures and handwriting

A clear photo or scan on plain white paper in good light. Don't worry about neatness; we clean it up.

The interesting end of the job list

The Strangest Things We've Been Asked to Engrave

Trophies and tumblers are the day job. The interesting requests are what keep it fun.

We've engraved pocket knives, hip flasks, lighters, tools, guitar pickguards, pet tags, motorcycle parts, cheese boards, rolling pins, urns, coconuts and a fair few things the customer asked us not to describe in public.

If you've got an idea and you're not sure it's possible, that's the good kind of enquiry. Send us a photo and we will advise. You will get a straight answer on whether it can be done and what it'll cost. Worst case, you learn something. Best case, you end up with something nobody else has.

Common questions

FAQs About Engraving Photos, Logos & Images

Onto glass, metal, timber and drinkware.

Yes. We convert the photograph into a tonal map and the laser etches it into the surface, giving a detailed greyscale image on glass, metal, timber or acrylic. Every photo is assessed before we quote, so you know what to expect.

Yes, and it's one of our most common jobs: staff gifts, branded drinkware, plaques, nameplates and corporate giveaways. Send a vector file if you have one. If you only have a small image file we can usually redraw it and we'll quote that as part of the job.

Yes, and it's one of our favourites. A photo or scan of the drawing on plain paper is all we need. We clean up the lines and show you a proof before engraving.

Yes. Signatures, handwritten notes, recipes, vows and messages are among the most meaningful things we engrave. Send a clear photo or scan on plain paper.

Yes, provided the resolution holds up. Send the original file at full size rather than a screenshot, and we'll tell you honestly how it will come out.

Yes, with the image rendered inside a solid crystal block rather than on the surface. It suits awards, gifts and memorials. Ask us for a quote.

Most engraving is monochrome, and on some materials we can produce colour marking. Send us your item and image and we'll tell you what's possible for it.

It'll be a faithful tonal reproduction, not a colour print. Detail in very dark or very bright areas can flatten, and every material renders contrast differently. That's why we always send a digital proof before engraving.

We'll tell you. Sometimes design work fixes it and we'll quote that up front. Sometimes a different photo or material gives a much better result, and we'll suggest it. If we don't think we can do the job justice, we'll say so rather than take the order.
